Scientists are constantly warning us about the depletion of natural resources.
Oil. Water. Rare-earth minerals.
Yet nobody seems particularly concerned about the most endangered resource of all.
Common sense.
Apparently, we're running dangerously low.
We have automobiles that can practically drive themselves, telephones that can answer questions about quantum physics, and refrigerators that can tell us when we're running out of milk.
Meanwhile, people are walking into traffic because they're watching videos of other people walking into traffic.
I'm beginning to suspect that artificial intelligence isn't replacing human intelligence.
It's filling a vacancy.
